Fall is Right Around the Corner!
"And all at once, Summer collapsed into Fall." -Oscar Wilde
Today is the last day of August, rounding out the Summer season here in Savannah. Fall is right around the corner and Savannah is one of the best places to be when the weather starts cooling down. The air gets crisp, the golden light illuminates the Spanish moss-covered trees, and the city livens up to enjoy all that fall has to offer here in the South.
Due to COVID-19, some scheduled events that normally take place in the Fall have decided to postpone their activities however, most of Savannah is still open for business and ready for you to come to visit! Here's how to make the most of one of the best seasons to visit Savannah while being compliant with COVID-19 safety precautions.
1. Take a stroll through Forsyth Park and enjoy the weather! Walk along the sidewalk under the beautiful moss-lined trees or grab some take-out from the restaurant that has been on your bucket list and set up a picnic in the grass. Savannah is discovered best on foot, so do some exploring!
2. Take a tour to learn more about the history of Savannah! There are many different options for learning a little bit about the History of Savannah. You can book a trolley tour, a carriage ride, or a ghost tour in a herse (creepy!). Savannah is filled with a rich history and one of the best ways to learn about it is through a guided tour!
3. Enjoy some sweets, music, and the water from River Street! River Street is always bustling with people selling art, playing music in the street, and has some good eats! Grab a praline from River Street Sweets and walk on down to the newest addition to the beautiful cobblestoned path, Plant RIverside! Plant Riverside just opened on the West end of River Street and is not only stunning in design, but there are some great new restaurants and stores down there that you will have to check out as well as a magnificent geode and crystal display in the lobby of the JW Marriot.
