Don't Leave Your Furry Friend Behind!

Savannah is one of the most dog-friendly cities I have ever been to. From local parks and squares to adventure through and a number of pet-friendly restaurants and shopping destinations, you won’t want to leave your furry friend behind on your next trip to Savannah!

Timber & Tide has compiled a list of some of the best dog-friendly locations around Downtown Savannah and surrounding areas paired with our two vacation rental homes that are steps away from the places mentioned.

1. Broughton Street is the main shopping hub in Savannah.

Located on Broughton Street is the Savannah Bee Company which gladly welcomes you and your pup to come to experience the world of Savannah Honey and lots of restaurants have outdoor seating perfect for you and your furry friend.

2. City Market is filled with restaurants, stores and often has live music playing at night. Many of the stores situated in City Market are pet-friendly.

Woof Gang Bakery sits in City Market and is the perfect place for you and your pet to stop to pick out some yummy treats!

3. River Street is a Savannah staple and a must-do on the bucket list for your trip here. Take a trip down and walk along the Savannah Riverfront. This activity is good at all times of the day and into the evening.

River Street is lined with many restaurants and Savannah gift shops. Most restaurants along this cobblestoned walk have outdoor seating where pets are more than welcome to dine with you.

4. Forsyth Park is a little further from all of the Downtown Tourist attractions Savannah has to offer but it is a must-visit if you are traveling with a pup!

Expanding over 30 acres, Forsyth Park is the perfect place to go and let your dog run and play around. There are always lots of friendly dogs walking the park with their owners, so you may even make a few friends on your visit here. There are some smaller, locally-owned businesses situated all around Forsyth, so don’t forget to explore those hidden gems on your way out!

5. Oliver Bentleys Historic Dog Walk Tour is a Historical tour tailored for you and your furry friend!

Savannah has so much history tied to it and walking tours are a perfect way to learn some history while sight-seeing all that Savannah has to offer. The Tours are about 90 minutes in length, spanning through about a mile of Historic Savannah. Tickets are $25 for adults, $12 for children and free for dogs! At the end, you even get a goodie bag filled with gluten-free doggie treats!

Now that we have some places to visit and things to see, you need the best place to stay! Timber and Tide has two properties that are perfect for your stay whether you are or are not traveling with your furry friend!
